After a lackluster season from the Green and Gold the Packers will certainly have to move on quickly from the disappointment since they have quite the lengthy list when it comes to free agents. In simple words, this article will talk about Green Bay’s most important upcoming free agents and if they will re-sign or find a new home.
Adrian Amos
Age: 29
Position:Safety
There is no question Amos is one of the flashier players on this list being one of the highest ranked safeties in both 2020 and 2021 due to his versatility and ability to tackle at the safety position, although his performance has unquestionably declined and he isn’t getting any younger. The resurgence of Darnell Savage at the backend of the season and a hidden gem in Rudy Ford will be enough for the Packers to let Amos go.
Decision: Pack your bags
Randall Cobb
Age: 32
Position: WR
Despite only totalling 34 receptions for over 400 yards and a touchdown the role Cobb plays for the Packers is invaluable. He is extremely reliable in difficult situations, great mentor for the young wide receiving room and truly an amazing presence for Green Bay. The downside is his age and if the Packers role with Love they could consider completely rebuilding which would most likely mean not bringing Cobb back, although if Rodgers stays put in Green Bay then resigning Cobb would be a no brainer.
Decision: Back to the Pack
Jarran Reed
Age: 30
Position: DL
Reed, who was thrusted into the starting lineup after Lowry’s woes and the inexperience of the rookie Wyatt, Reed played a very solid role for the Green and Gold and should be able to return for an affordable price. Reed despite not being very young can still serve as a nice piece on the defensive line as Wyatt continues to develop.
Decision: Back to the Pack
Robert Tonyan Jr.
Age: 28
Position: TE
After his incredible 11 touchdown season in 2020 it seems Robert Tonayn hasn’t been able to recapture his form suffering an ACL tear the following season. If the price isn’t too steep considering the Packers cap situation this would be a great deal for Green Bay considering their upcoming need at the tight end position, but the price could increase if Tonyan believes he deserves more and with the Packers being linked with Notre Dame Tight End Micheal Mayer at the 15th overall pick this will certainly be a tough decision for the Pack.
Decision: Uncertain
Allen Lazard
Age: 27
Position: WR
After having a good season for the Packers being their primary target it seems Lazard hinted at a departure saying that the home game against the Lions was potentially his last in Green and Gold. Lazard has proved to be a reliable piece for the Packers with his large frame, excellent blocking ability and being a consistent target for Rodgers this past season, although he will most likely ask for a pretty sizable fee due to totalling season highs in yards and receptions this past season. Watson and Doubs seem to be the future for the Packers at the Wide Receiver position, not Lazard.
