Most fans believe that the Green Bay Packers are about to enter a rebuild. It would make sense with Aaron Rodgers likely leaving and veterans like Allen Lazard and Adrian Amos leaving in free agency. However, the author believes that is not the case.
Despite losing some pieces, Green Bay still has a solid, young roster. Christian Watson provides explosive talent while Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon form a strong backfield. Eric Stokes and Jaire Alexander are two lockdown corners while Rashan Gary and Preston Smith are getting after the quarterback. On top of that, they have Kenny Clark, Quay Walker, and De’Vondre Campbell. Jordan Love has also shown the ability to be a starting quarterback.
Green Bay also has the 15 overall pick in the draft and will receive more picks from the New York Jets if they reach an agreement.
Green Bay’s schedule and playing in a weak conference also works in their favor. The NFC North is wide open this season with the Vikings losing some key players, and the Lions and Bears still having question marks. The NFC South was one of the worst divisions in the 2022-2023 season.
Although there are a few elite teams in the NFC, the wild card spots will be wide open.
The 2023-2024 season will be important for Green Bay. If Jordan Love can show that he is the future of the franchise, there won’t be much need for a rebuild.
