Can Aaron Rodgers Win a Third Straight MVP?

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a four-time MVP winner and is currently a back-to-back MVP winner in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Is there really a chance that Rodgers can win a third MVP in a row. Everyone would be thinking no, as there is voter fatigue, and it is just very unlikely to continue to have that level of play for three straight seasons. There has been only one time where a player in the NFL has one three straight MVPs. That player is Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre. What a coincidence that would be for the Packers to have the only two players in league history to win three MVPs in a row. Now will it happen? Maybe.

At the beginning of this offseason Rodgers had a very slim chance to win league MVP because of voter fatigue. With what happened in the offseason, Rodgers chances went up. Here’s why. Davante Adams is no longer a Packer as he was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. Then the Packers take a bunch of young receivers in the draft in Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Samori Toure. The Packers also signed free agent Sammy Watkins. Then the Packers still have Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Robert Tonyan coming off a torn ACL, Aaron Jones, and AJ Dillion coming back. The Packers also hope to have David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins coming back from torn ACLs as well to add a boost to the offensive line. Looking at this offense it looks a little below average if not average. If Adams was still on the Packers, this offense would look unstoppable with the best receiver in the league and one of the best running back tandems with other key pieces returning from injuries. So, yes if Adams was still on the Packers, Rodgers would almost have no shot of winning MVP for a third straight year, but Adams is no longer in Green Bay anymore.

We all know what Rodgers is capable of. He is going to raise the level of play of everyone around him and it may look a little rough at times, but this offense is going to get going and is not going to be a joke. Teams will not be able to just sit back and not try very hard to stop this Packers offense much like fans around the league think will happen. Rodgers is too good and will torch teams if that is the case. Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LeFleur is going to play a big part in helping Rodgers win his third straight MVP as well. How so? LeFleur needs to create plays to help scheme guys open and make things easier on the offense for everyone including Rodgers. LeFleur has done a nice job of that since he became the head coach of the Packers. LeFleur’s offense is more about scheming guys open more so than guys winning one on one. That is why this Packers offense will be better than people expect, and Rodgers will put up yet another MVP season. With the voter fatigue the voters may not want to give Rodgers the award but how can they not after dominating teams yet again after the loss of Adams, an average offense, another 13 win season, and division champions.
