US Bank Stadium is really only known as the home of the Minnesota Vikings, but little do people know that the stadium has become one of the largest venues for other events in the Twin Cities. Since opening in the Summer of 2016, US Bank Stadium has hosted college baseball games, European soccer matches, WWE PPV events, the X-Games, concerts, the Final Four, and more. US Bank Stadium is set to host some significant events before the upcoming NFL Season. Let’s take a look at what they are.
Minnesota Golden Gophers Baseball
The Golden Gophers of the University of Minnesota always play at US Bank Stadium to begin their season. Because the university has an outdoor baseball field, and it snows until April in Minnesota, the Gophers can’t play on their regular field until the snow has melted in mid-April. Tickets are usually only sold for behind home plate at the games since no seats are put behind the temporary walls placed in the outfield.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers (April 8th)
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers travel to Minnesota as part of their recent tour, beginning in mid-March. Expect to hear classics from the Chilli Peppers such as Californication, Otherside, and Can’t Stop.
Luke Combs (May 13th)
Luke Combs is traveling to Minnesota as part of his recent tour that began in early February. During his show at US Bank Stadium, Combs is expected to have guest appearances from Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry, and more to be announced. Taylor Swift (June 23rd and 24th)
Yes, that is correct, Taylor Swift will be performing back-to-back nights at US Bank Stadium for her The Eras Tour. On the 23rd, Swift is expected to have girl in red and Gracie Abrams as musical guests, and on the 24th, girl in red and Owenn. With Taylor Swift, you can expect to hear a lot of everything from her albums, from Bad Blood to Blank Space to Cardigan, and many many more.
Ed Sheeran (August 12th)
Ed Sheeran will be visiting Minnesota as part of his recent tour, and he will also not be alone, being joined by Khalid for his performance at US Bank Stadium. Songs you can expect to hear from Sheeran include Bad Habits, Shivers, Perfect, and Shape of You.
Those are just some of the many events that US Bank Stadium will be hosting before the NFL Season. US Bank Stadium will also be hosting a college football game between Eastern Washington and North Dakota. After the beginning of the season, the confirmed events so far are Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks on November 10th, and Metallica on the 16th and 17th of August in 2024.
