Packers Players That Must Shine in Week One Against The Vikings

Week one of the regular season is finally here! We have waited six months for football to start again and this season should be better than ever. In week one, the Green Bay Packers will travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings. This is a big matchup for both teams to start the season as these are the two teams that are going to be competing for the NFC North this season. Both teams have high aspirations this season and would like to start off on the right foot. In order for the Packers to win this game, they are going to need certain players to step up and have a great game.

Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes
The Vikings have one of the best receiving duos in the NFL. Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen have been a deadly combo for the past two years. The Packers will definitely have their hands full with these two. The Packers could definitely give these two some problems on Sunday though. Jaire Alexander is one of the best corners in the NFL and Eric Stokes is coming off a fantastic rookie season. Stokes last season had to cover some of the best receivers in the NFL with Jaire Alexander out for most of last season. This season, he will move to the number two corner with Alexander coming back and that will make this secondary even better. Stokes and Alexander need to play well on Sunday, because they will be the primary defenders on Jefferson and Thielen. If they can limit some of the production and success that Thielen and Jefferson have had, it could be a tough day for the Vikings offense.

Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones has been a key contributor for this Packers offense the past couple of seasons. This season, he will be a bigger factor in this offense with Davante Adams now in Las Vegas. The Packers will need him early this season with Aaron Rodgers finding chemistry with his young receivers. Jones is obviously great out of the backfield, but with Rodgers not having a lot of trust with other receivers and Allen Lazard being questionable for this game, they will really need him in the passing game.

Mason Crosby
Mason Crosby is coming off a right knee injury, but has been a full participant in practice this week and looks ready to go for Sunday. In this game, points could be hard to come by for both teams. The Vikings will be implementing a new offense this season with their new head coach Kevin O’Connell and there could be some growing pains for their offense. They will also be going up against a very good defense as well. The Packers are going to have a different type of offense as well with Davante Adams now gone. They will be figuring out new ways of being successful on offense and could struggle in the beginning as well. This is why Crosby could be a big factor in this game. Points could be very hard to come by and they need Crosby to be perfect.

This is a very important game for the Packers. This would be a big win and a great start to the season. If these players can step up and all play well, the Packers will have a good chance of picking up their first win of the season.
