The 2022 Minnesota Vikings are now officially the kings of one score games.
Following a walk-off field goal to secure a win over the New York Giants, this team has set a new record for most one-score wins in a single season with 11. They have surpassed the 2019 Seattle Seahawks and the 1978 Houston Oilers, who each won 10 one-score games in a season.
The only Vikings win this year to come by more than one score was their Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers, which they won by a score of 23-7.
With two more games left to play, it is entirely possible for the Vikings to extend their record of one score wins to 13. Doing so would be fitting for this team, because winning by one score seems to be the only way that this Vikings team can win. It has been without a doubt stressful for Vikings fans, but it has been worth it, especially because they are undefeated in one score games this year.
The Vikings are now 12-3 with the NFC North title already clinched. With their next two games being against the lowly Packers and Bears, it’s very possible this team finishes 14-3 or 13-4. How many wins will the Vikings finish with this year, and will they come by one score or more?
