The Positives From this Week’s Game Versus the Washington Commanders

You won’t be surprised to see that this will be a relatively short article after yet another horrific week, resulting in a loss against the Washington Commanders. Although, I thought enough people will spend time ripping apart the performance, so I should try and find some positives from this week.
Offensive line
This week saw drastic changes on the offensive line. The only person who remained in the same position as last week was the centre Josh Myers, with notable changes being Elgton Jenkins moving to guard from tackle, and rookie Zach Tom replacing injured David Bakhtiari at tackle. The O-Line was definitely not perfect at all. They gave away a lot of holding penalties at key times. Although, looking purely at protecting Aaron Rodgers they were really good. They allowed no sacks all game against a Washington defence which is 8th in the league in total sacks. There’s a lot of young guys on the line which could explain the penalties, but I thought the protection was good this week. Zach Tom looked like he’s going to be great value from the draft after being picked in the 4th round.
Kingsley Enagbare
Enagbare’s play time has slowly been increasing week by week and he has shown great potential. The pass rush for the Green Bay Packers has been slightly underwhelming in recent weeks. Therefore seeing this rookie come in and have high productivity, including 2 sacks in the last 2 games along with 3 tackle contributions against the Commanders, has been exciting. I look forward to seeing more of him in the coming games.
Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones is the best player on the Green Bay Packers right now. As our number one running back he had the most receptions on the team with 9 for 53 yards and two touchdowns. He is such a good player and is being under utilised by the Packers. He only got handed the ball 9 times which is a disgrace, although this article is looking at the positives. He single handedly kept Green Bay in the game with his route running, catching ability and ability to run after the catch. It feels like this is said every week but he needs to get the ball more.
Takeaways
I wanted to give an honourable mention to De’Vondre Campbell’s pick six. This is the first interception of the season for him. Along with this, Rasul Douglas had a good game, and could’ve ended up with a couple of interceptions and a fumble recovery if it wasn’t for execution issues and penalties. Green Bay are near the bottom of the league in turnover differential (-4) so seeing signs of improvement in this part of the game was encouraging.
