Reviewing and Grading the Second Quarter of the Packers Season

We have now gone through the first half of the NFL and Green Bay Packers season. If you haven’t yet, go and read my grading of the first quarter of the Packers season here, as I will only be discussing the second quarter of the season here.

The Good
Let’s be honest, there is very little good after these last five games for the Packers. One good thing? KR and backup running back Kylin Hill has returned from injury, now here to help provide a spark to the special teams after many problems. Also in the good, kicker Mason Crosby has remained not a problem. In addition, backup edge rusher and 5th round rookie Kinglsye Enagbare has shown out, appearing to be a quality number three at the moment. With his development, there is a chance he could ascend to be this team’s number two and a replacement for Preston Smith. Unfortunately there is nothing else that appears to be going well for this team at the moment.

The Bad
There is only a little bad here as most of the problems will appear in the ugly category for this team. As for the bad, injuries to rookie receivers Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson have really haunted this team. Also injuries to De’vondre Campbell and Aaron Jones appear to be problems on the horizon for this team. These losses have really caused this team major problems in its losses.

The Ugly
Now for the ugly. There is far more than I could ever list for this team. Starting off, this Packers team went 0-5 in the last five games, leaving the Packers with a 3-6 record, essentially being one game away from the season being completely over. Aaron Rodgers is playing horribly, and has played a massive part in the failings of this team in the last five weeks. But maybe the worst problem? Superstar edge rusher Rashan Gary has torn his ACL and is officially done for the season.

The Grade: F
It is far too easy, and also a painful thing to say, to give the Green Bay Packers an F grade following the second quarter of the season. But there is no other grade to give. This team’s season is practically over, the division is out of reach at this point, and if this team loses one more game it will be all but impossible to make the playoffs. My hope is that my three quarter review will be less ugly and better, but I am not positive about this at all.
