Packers Offense Needs To Make A Change

Heading into week six of the 2022 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers were 3-2 and were coming off a poor performance against the New York Giants. The Packers in week six would come home and play the New York Jets. The Packers really struggled offensively the entire game and they would go on to lose 27 to 10. These past three games were supposed to be games where the Packers were anticipated to win convincingly and would get this team on track before getting into the tougher part of their schedule. This stretch of games has shown that Green Bay needs to make a change.

Switch Up the Offensive Line
The Packers offensive line really struggled against the Jets. They allowed four sacks and Aaron Rodgers was under pressure all game. The Jets defensive line was really confusing this offensive line. There were way too many blown plays by allowing a free rusher to come through the line. The Packers need to make a change with the offensive line. With David Bakhtiari finally back and really playing the entire game, they need to move Yosh Nijman over to right tackle. Nijman has been playing left tackle for the last year with Bakhtiari out and has done a very good job. He is just sitting on the bench and his talent is being wasted. If Nijman could move to right tackle, this would move Elgton Jenkins back to guard. Jenkins came back this year coming off an ACL tear. They have had him playing right tackle and he has struggled. He has been great when he has played at guard in the past with that being his main position. Making these two moves could really help this offensive line that has struggled a little bit recently.

Make A Move For A Receiver For The Right Price
A lot of Packers fans are begging for the Packers to go get a big time receiver. They are wanting someone like Odell Beckham Jr. or Chase Claypool. The thing with both of these guys is that they are going to cost Green Bay. Odell wants a big contract that Green Bay just won’t be able to offer and Claypool is going to have high trade value. He is someone that the Packers would have to give a second or third round pick for. These are two types of moves that they haven’t done in the past and I don’t see that changing. There are some other receivers out there that the Packers could possibly target. One receiver is D.J. Moore for the Carolina Panthers. Carolina is looking to trade some of their star players and looking to rebuild after firing their head coach Matt Rhule. Green Bay could get a deep threat receiver for a good price which would really open up this offense. Another receiver that nobody is talking about is Will Fuller. Although he struggles to stay healthy, he could be a great pickup if he can stay on the field. He is a free agent and the Packers could get him for cheap.

The Packers still have a chance this season. We need to stop calling this season a failure when we are only six weeks in. When the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2011, they started off 3-3 as well. This team still has a chance to win the Super Bowl. If they can just make these moves on the offensive end, this team will be back to their winning ways.
