On Saturday, the Green Bay Packers announced that All Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list ahead of training camp.
Bakhtiari missed nearly all of last season after tearing his ACL on December 31, 2020. He didn’t see the field again until Week 18 of the 2021-2022 season when he played just 20 snaps.
Bakhtiari was initially absent from the list of players placed on the PUP list entering training camp on Friday. But according to a report by Dianna Russini of ESPN, Bakhtiari was feeling good heading into training camp before recently experiencing a setback in his recovery.
In an interview with Cheesehead TV in January, Bakhtiari announced that his recovery process had been stalled due to fluid buildup in his knee throughout last season.
Bakhtiari is eligible to return from the PUP at any time during training camp.
Bakhtiari’s injury is a huge discouragement to all Packers fans, as the All-Pro left tackle has only played 20 total snaps for the green and gold since tearing his ACL in 2020.
