The Detroit Lions will be without their most productive rusher and receiver when they host the Seahawks this upcoming Sunday.
D’Andre Swift had a lingering ankle injury that limited his touches in weeks 2 and 3, but he also injured his shoulder in the contest against the Vikings. The combination of the 2 ailments led to head coach Dan Campbell saying the third year running back would “probably not play” against the Seahawks. Swift has rushed for 231 yards on 27 carries, averaging an astounding 8.6 yards per carry. He has also added 77 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown to his overall stat line through 3 games. Jamaal Williams and Craig Reynolds sit behind him on the depth chart, with Williams most likely getting the bulk of the carries in the upcoming contest.
Amon-Ra St. Brown was fully healthy going into week 3, but he came out of Minneapolis with a more severe ankle injury that makes his “out” designation against the Seahawks set in stone. St Brown has been Detroit’s best offensive player in 2022, as he continued his hot streak from the tail end of the 2021 season and exploded into the spotlight as the Lions became a more competitive football team in the current season. St.Brown is 6th in receptions, T-2nd for receiving touchdowns, and 11th in receiving yards this year. Both Josh Reynolds and DJ Chark are also questionable this week, meaning Quintez Cephus and Kalif Raymond have a legitimate chance of the top targets for Jared Goff against Seattle.
